IWAT – the innovative mobile water treatment unit

THE UNIQUE DEVELOPMENT OF AQUAPROFIT CAN PROVIDE HEALTHY DRINKING WATER ANYWHERE

The greatest challenges of the age of climate change are inseparable from sustainable water management. There is now a widespread consensus that preventing the global water crisis is only possible with intelligent and sustainable solutions that are well adapted to local conditions.

This is especially true for technologies that provide healthy drinking water.

Aquaprofit’s management and development engineers have therefore considered it important to create an innovative technology that can produce healthy drinking water anywhere in the world, even in an environment without basic infrastructure.

As a result of the developments, the company presented its innovative mobile water treatment unit for the first time under the brand name IWAT (Intelligent Water Aid Technology) at the 2016 World Water Summit in Budapest.

The introduction of IWAT in 2016 was surrounded by significant international interest:

IWAT’s water treatment units are a modular system that can produce healthy drinking water from virtually any groundwater or surface water source. The special advantage of the technology is that it is able to ensure its continuous operation – thanks to its highly efficient integrated solar cell and battery system – from its own renewable energy source.

In addition to the independent and carbon-free operation of IWAT over other mobile water treatment plants, the high degree of automation of the system is also an important advantage.

The innovative engineering solutions used in IWAT not only enable the equipment to perform its function even without direct human intervention, but also allow the real-time monitoring and control of the entire water treatment process thanks to its unique remote monitoring system.

The excellent adaptability of IWAT technology to user needs is ensured by the three subtypes of the brand, IWAT Base, IWAT Smart and IWAT Advanced.

In addition to the Ain Jamal spring in Tunisia, the IWAT Advanced facility, which has been operating in the Jendouba Governorate since October 2019, also includes a container with a social unit and a stand-alone solar power system.

Its daily water treatment capacity of 30 m3 makes it suitable for the supply of drinking water to nearly 1,000 people.

Thanks to its remote monitoring system, its operation, intelligent control and monitoring based on energy optimization requires a minimum number of operating personnel.
